Destination: Kenya & Tanzania

enya and Tanzania are two of Africa’s most popular countries when it comes to experiencing truly wonderful game viewing. This 13-day adventure holiday concentrates on showing you their most famous game reserves as well as introducing you to the exotic mystique of the Island of Zanzibar. You also visit several of their principle cities and towns as you travel between the game parks, giving you insight into the character of each country and its people. Looking for the ‘Big Five’, elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard as you traverse the open plains of the Masai Mara in Kenya and the Serengeti in Tanzania is thrilling beyond belief. These two reserves are also home to the annual migration (July/August) where thousands upon thousands of gnu and zebra, trek from one park to another in search of edible grass and water. Ngorongoro Crater is a positive Noah’s Ark of African birds and animals, living within the protective depth of one of the world’s largest calderas. In Arusha, within view of Africa’s highest mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro, experience a typical African town with its lively markets where many bargains and curios can be found, and see a traditional Masai village. Finally, after visiting Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s former capital, and the country’s largest city, take a short ferry ride to the island of Zanzibar to spend three relaxing days on its beautiful beaches, exploring its history as a slave-trading and spice centre and just drinking in the ambiance. Travelling both by safari truck and 4x4 jeeps, you will discover the intimacy of Africa as you camp out under the stars each night.
